Yes to all of this! But of course, I'm particularly excited you loved Kubri :) and I say we have a chic gathering at least 2x a year if not more. My joy list: an alarm clock which is helping me reclaim my brain from my phone first thing in the morning; reading nights at home so that I skip streaming binges; and if I'm lucky, more time in Italy this year.

Well Ajiri, reading this has brought me joy and inspired me to look back on 2023 even though it’s already April. I truly need to revisit journaling. I’ll have go back in my calendar to refresh myself on all the joyous activities that made the year fly by!Journalling again will help me capture all those great moments in between:)

Love that you have a joy list. I appreciate it when I find other writers sharing this message. I started a new thread on Friday where anyone can introduce themselves and share what brought them joy this week. If you feel like adding to it, I'd be grateful to have you contribute :)

Ajiri, What a brilliant idea to think about a « Joie » list…many items on your list I can identify with. Spending time in the outdoors, cycling, kayaking, walking bring me joy. I entitled my Christmas Card: ‘Memorable Moments 23’ including many pictures identifying gatherings with family and friends. In fact, besides my own copy of « Joie », I gave the gift of your book to SIX dear friends who have brought « Joie » into my Life. My husband and I are SO Blessed. Next September, he’ll be 100 years old. He does have terminal cancer and a host of other issues, but we continue to defy the Drs’ odds and DO Life day-by-day. I’m so sorry that I missed your presentation in Nashville. Tickets were purchased and much anticipation surrounded our trip to Nashville, but the weather was TERRIBLE and I was uncomfortable traveling downtown with my nearly 100 year old husband. I am his Full Time Caregiver and the risk caused me to cancel my plans to come. I can’t begin to tell you how sad I was to miss a chance to meet you. Carver is a DDay Survivor and we’re planning to be in Normandy in early June for the 80th DDay Anniversary Celebrations. Perhaps, our paths will cross… »Joie » is my theme for 2024 and you inspire me to include some every single day. God Bless, Marianne

Dear Marianne, thank you for sharing this. I too truly hope to make the DDay celebrations so maybe our paths will indeed cross. I am sure your husband has so many wonderful stories of a life well lived to share with so many of us.

Love this list! Such a great way to start the year. A few things on my list: sunshine and blue skies (esp. in the cooler months), Kubri also (SO good, right? Thanks to Lindsey for the rec!), the original Frasier, flea markets (especially St Ouen), skiing at Sundance, pizza movie nights with the family, travel (riding bikes on Ile de Re, having an apero at MIRA in Menerbes, finally experienceing Salvation Mountain, and so many more moments), great conversations with friends that you never want to end, a fantastic new pair of shoes, my morning cup of matcha...

I do love a list! Movie: The first time I watched Barbie I met new pals and had a drink in a pretty campo under a Barbie colored sky. Discovery: That the beaches on Lido are 2 stops away and are kind of great. Purchase: 4 colorful handmade coffee cups (while I wait for my house sale/renovation/container of all of my belongs from Rome)

A wonderful list. I just got to spend a weekend with three dear friends, one of whom I hadn't seen in three and a half years -- all gathered around the fireplace and a fondue pot. Talking, laughing, and even a little crying. Need more more MORE of that in my life this year !!
