Yes I know the main event this Summer is the Olympics but if you live here or are visiting there are lots of great exhibitions right now. Bien sûr (of course) many museums are keeping with the sports theme but it’s nice to see how some make connections to the decorative arts as well. I hope to squeeze in a few before the Summer break rolls around in a month. (I would insert a sports related joke here but shall spare you.)

High on my list is a plan to revisit the Musée Bourdelle with a friend to see the new exhibition and visit the Rhodia cafe which I just read about. One of my favorite books is Emile Zola’s Au Bonheur des Dames (The Ladies’ Paradise) so I will have to see the exhibition about the birth of the department stores. Also recently read an interesting substack article about the treasure saved from the Notre Dame fire so will get there before the break for sure.
