Table Topics with Nessy from Messy Nessy Chic
Next up in this new series where I invite friends to my table for a Proustian inspired chat. (This table we took on the road).
I recently launched a new series called Table Topics, where I invite people to my table for a meal and chat to get to know them better. As you all know, I loveeee moments talking with people at the table because it’s a place where our souls collide and we get to know each other better and form more memories. And sometimes I already know them but it’s still fun to hear their answers to different questions. The concept is simple yet fun. Think of it like a verbal Marcel Proust Questionnaire, but the questions won’t always be the same. Sometimes they will also share a new project or ongoing work at the end so stick around and I hope you enjoy it!
For this second episode, I invited my dear friend Vanessa Grall, aka Nessy, to my table. Nessy has been a busy busy maman and entrepreneur these last months. She recently opened her first store, Messy Nessy’s Cabinet, and released her third book which is the final in her guide-book trilogy called Don’t Be A Tourist in London. I knew getting her over to my place on the other side of the river might be challenging, so I packed up a picnic and showed up at the shop just in time for lunch break. I knew a bench in the darling little park across the street from the shop would be just as charming and comfortable as my home.
In honor of Nessy’s new book, that is a very extensive, intriguing, and informative guide to London for visitors who want more than top ten must-see/must Instagram spots, I packed a picnic basket on theme. I made cucumber and egg-salad sandwhiches on white bread, no crust of course. I packed a bottle of Pimm’s, ginger beer, a few lemons, and some sprigs of mint to make Pimm’s Cups. For dessert, she requested chocolate digestives and I threw some grapes in the basket because they were so cute and seedless, which I rarely see in Paris.
Hope you enjoy this episode where you will learn Nessy’s favorite person in history, where we are headed for vacation together this Summer, and… you get to hear her sing!!
I hope you enjoy it and look forward to sharing more and hearing your thoughts in the comments.
