Table Topics with Lindsey Tramuta
Rosé piscine with the woman who truly knows Paris like the back of her hand.
I’m back with another episode of Table Topics—a video series where I invite creatives, writers, and friends over to chat. The concept is simple yet always full of surprises. Think of it as a kind of verbal Marcel Proust Questionnaire, though the questions aren’t always the same. Sometimes they’re playful, sometimes introspective, and often they take us to unexpected places. There’s something magical about what happens around the table—it’s where guards come down, stories unfold, and joy shows up in the small moments.
This time, I’m joined by my dear friend
, the brilliant writer and journalist you may know from her books The New Paris and The New Parisienne. Lindsey has a gift for telling the real stories of this city—the ones that move beyond postcard clichés and into honest portrayals of Paris .We filmed this one during a warm summer day. I set out a few snacks, and we sipped “rosé piscine” (rosé wine with lots of ice cubes) as we chatted. We talked about joy, fave spots and meals, and her surprising favorite band.
Now, I’ll admit—I filmed this last summer and am only just sharing it now. But the timing couldn’t be better: Lindsey’s new book The Eater Guide to Paris just launched last week. It’s the ultimate guide to eating in and around Paris, complete with day and weekend trip ideas. And if you turn to page 163, you’ll find a little something from me—a dreamy weekend escape to Provence.
If you haven’t explored her work yet, I highly recommend subscribing to her newsletter, The New Paris Dispatch, and diving into The New Parisienne. (Full disclosure: I’m featured in the book—but that’s not the only reason to read it!)
I hope you enjoy this episode. Let me know in the comments who you’d love to see at my table next. And of course, subscribe so you don’t miss the next conversation.
Bisous xx,
Ajiri
