Beautiful Hotel Bars & Restaurants in Paris
A little round up of places where you can experience luxury and good design minus a full night’s stay.
People often ask me for Paris hotel recommendations but the reality is that I haven’t really stayed in any Paris hotels. Well…except there was that one time I was in deep need of solitude to chip away at an impending self-inflicted book proposal deadline. For that stay, I chose Hotel Panache in the 9th because it was relatively inexpensive and small with charming Art Deco interiors designed by Dorothée Meilichzon. They don’t have a bar or cafe, which was the perfect situation to stay locked in a room writing.
For recommendations, I pass the mic and refer people to a CN Traveler article by my friend
and Sandra Ramani because they actually stay at these hotels, ask all the questions and put together tried and tested lists. Now hotel bars and restaurants are my jam. I can confidently share a list because when I need to meet a friend or an associate, I will either choose a sunny cafe terrace or a hotel bar. I love that hotel bars give you access to great design by (sometimes) notable designers and luxury without fully buying into hotel prices. Also hotels give me a similar feeling that airports and train station do with their transient restless exciting energy. There are people coming and going with stories you will never know and I always find this intriguing.
Hopefully you will find a beautiful hotel bar or restaurant to meet a friend for a cafe or a drink while you gather some design inspo. Also I will update this list from time to time so save this and check back.
